Hijack, 2023 - ★★★½

“People don’t realize how much they hate commuting. A nice house farther from work is not worth the fraction of your life you are giving to boredom and fatigue.”

As I’m preparing to move this one cut real deep. Commuting became one of the worst parts of my last job. Hoping to change that shortly!

Barbie, 2023 - ★★★★

This is the MCU I always wanted. Existential humor and nostalgia.

This Is the End, 2013 - ★★★★

Finished reading 📚: Where the Deer and the Antelope Play by Nick Offerman

This book is not very good. It’s too many differing ideas interspersed amongst each other. I was very disappointed and confused reading from chapter to chapter.

Meeting with the realtor this afternoon. Not looking forward to selling or renting our house out. Both aren’t how I want to be spending my time while we move to DFW area.

Bloodsport, 1988 - ★★★

"It's time to protect your nuts, guys."

This is the intro to the Kumite and I loved it. 90 minutes of cheese and cheesy action. What more can you ask for?

The Worst Person in the World, 2021 - ★★★★★

This would have been my top movie of 2021.

Julie and Aksel's relationship has Before Sunset vibes, but with the added depth of Julie's narcissism. This movie is a difficult yet somehow hopeful watch about aging and finding your purpose. I loved every minute of it.

I’ve always been too afraid to try an iOS beta 😅

Raiders of the Lost Ark, 1981 - ★★★★½

Indy is Harrison Ford's best franchise. And I love SW.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day, 1991 - ★★★★½

Uncle Bob strikes again.

Anyone have recommendations of good areas to live in west/northwest Dallas area? Anything in the vicinity of DFW, as far north or west as Ft Worth or Denton. And what stands out to you!

Oppenheimer, 2023 - ★★★★

I liked it a lot. Just enough Nolan grandeur and an incredible cast to round out the most depressing blockbuster of the year. Murphy deserves all the praise for his performance. RDJ sneaky good too.

An Update on Work

I’ve always been someone who is my own worst enemy when it comes to looking for jobs and interviewing. Constantly down on myself, questioning my abilities, and not utilizing networking properly.

It’s been a journey but for once all that work paid off and I’ve accepted a new position! The family will be moving from Austin to Dallas area now in the coming weeks and months. Crazy journey, but new adventures lie ahead!

The Justified sequel is very fun so far. Timothy Olyphant is just a treasure.
